Relationships with family, friends, work colleagues
and people in our local community are a key part of people’s
life. Some of these relationships are more important or more challenging
to maintain than others.
Many people report that a communication difficulty can have a major impact on relationships with those around them, notably family and friends.
This
therapy approach aims to support you and/or your family and friends
to maintain meaningful relationships with each other, as well as supporting you to develop new friendships and networks. Sessions
may involve:
•
You
•
Your partner
•
Your children
•
Your friends
• others of your choice
both individually and together.
If you have a brain injury, the
main focus will be on problem solving relationship changes that have
occurred since your injury and issues that are directly
related to your communication. The focus would not concern relationship
issues that existed prior to your injury or that are not
injury related.
