Introductory session
Following an initial telephone conversation, an introductory meeting will be arranged as appropriate.

This will include:

• A brief review of the key issues for you (i.e. what you are wanting)
• An overview of what intandem can offer
• A discussion of your options (i.e. intandem and other)
• A joint decision about whether intandem is the best option for you at this time


Following the meeting you will be sent a letter summarising the outcome.
This meeting will last approximately 45 mins to 1 hour

In-depth interview
This allows for a more thorough exploration of the key issues for you and your family and friends.

This will include:

• A client interview
• A relative or friend interview
• Joint discussion with you and your relative/friend

Further Assessment
The number of hours of further assessment will be jointly agreed with you. This could include:

• Use of formal assessments
• Use of rating scales
• Completion of questionnaires
• Making and reviewing a video of you communicating in a situation of your choice (e.g. in conversation, using the telephone, giving a presentation)
• A community visit (e.g. using public transport, shopping)
• A joint session with a relative or friend
• Liaison with other professionals/relevant people

The results of all the assessments completed will be discussed with you.

Further Sessions
The number of sessions will be jointly agreed and reviewed with you.

We offer one-to-one, paired and group sessions. These can involve your family/friends and/or support workers if you want this.

We run a monthly "Challenge & Support" group for all clients who would like to attend.

We also run a bi-monthly "Friends & Family Support Group" for all relatives and friends who would like to attend.

Support group dates


Non face-to-face contact
This term is used to describe all activities which take place in support of therapy sessions:

• Liaison with other people/agencies
• Telephone calls
• Family sessions without the client present
• Meetings with other professionals
• Report writing
• Letter writing

There is a charge for all these activities.


Cancellation policy
Sessions cancelled with 24 hrs notice incur no charge. However, if 24 hrs notice has not been given, then full hourly payment is required. Travel costs will not be incurred in the event of a cancellation.

Location
Sessions can take place at your home, at the therapist's base or another negotiated location e.g coffee shop, day centre, work place.
