Quality 3 section on supervision which states the following:
'A
key factor in delivering a quality speech and language therapy
service is supervision. Supervision refers to a formal arrangement
which enables an SLT or support practitioner to discuss their
work regularly with someone who is experienced and qualified.
Two forms of supervision are recommended
•
line management
• clinical supervision’
Cathy
and Sam are able to provide 'clinical supervision'
which 'provides an opportunity for practitioners to
obtain case supervision outside the line management structure.
It is a formal arrangement where SLTs can discuss their interventions,
including the feelings that are engendered'
